More than 2,300 students to graduate from WSU

More than 2,300 students are eligible to participate in the 120th spring commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 12, at Wichita State University. Ceremonies will be held in Charles Koch Arena.

Undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred in college ceremonies. The public should be advised that security will be in place and plan additional time for screening by metal detectors to enter the arena. Doors will open at 7 a.m. and remain open throughout the day.

Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences / College of Fine Arts

  • More than 820 students are eligible to participate in commencement exercises at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 12.
  • Joe Bain will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be the Honorable Delia Garcia, executive director of the National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Association.

College of Education / College of Health Professions

  • About 755 students are eligible to participate in commencement exercises at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12. Joe Bain will represent the Kansas Board of Regents.
  • The commencement speaker will be Brigadier General William T. Bester, senior advisor for the Jonas Veterans Healthcare Program.

College of Engineering / W. Frank Barton School of Business

  • Almost 730 students are eligible to graduate in a ceremony at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 12.
  • Joe Bain will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Tom Gentile, CEO of Spirit AeroSystems.
