Wichita State a stop on National Student Exchange bike tour

Wichita State University served as a pit stop recently for a cross-country bike tour to promote National Student Exchange (NSE).

Curtis Moss, a student at Oklahoma State University, is cycling across the United States to promote the program, which allows students to study up to one year at a participating university. Students can attend classes at a different campus while paying their home institution’s tuition rates.

The 23-year-old embarked on his 3,973-mile journey Friday and reached Wichita State Monday, May 17.

Wichita State is the first of Moss’ NSE member campus rest stops, which include the University of Nebraska at Kearney; University of Wyoming; and Montana State University, Missoula. Moss’ trip will end at the University of Alaska, Anchorage.

More than 94,000 students have been on exchange since NSE’s inception in 1968. Students can choose from 200 campuses in the United States, Canada and U.S. Territories. The program came to Wichita State in 1997. Since then, 300 Shockers have participated, including Amy Nichols and Hayley Fry.
