Poison control expert to speak at Wichita State

Daling McMoran, education coordinator at the University of Kansas Hospital Poison Control Center, will make a presentation at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the Wichita State University Marcus Welcome Center.

The event is free and open to the public.

McMoran will provide information about common poisons, cleaners, medications and hazardous materials, including storage and hazards of those products, how to deal with poisonings and illegal street drugs, and how to handle affected persons. He also will talk about the purpose and abilities of the Poison Control Center.

McMoran speaks nationally to groups, including nursing students, railway workers, residence hall staff, physical plant staff, early childhood care providers, medical professionals and more.
