Learn about interpreting and translating at February event

Anyone who is bilingual, uses language interpreters/translators or is interested in becoming a translator/interpreter is invited to an event at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, in 100 Lindquist Hall at Wichita State University.

The event is hosted by Wichita State and the Mid-America Chapter (MICATA) of the American Translators Association (ATA).

The session will include information about MICATA and ATA, as well as the following:

  • Translating vs. interpreting
  • Modes of interpreting
  • The certification process for translators
  • The certification process for court and medical interpreting
  • Ethical guidelines
