Thirty years of astronomy featured at Lake Afton Observatory

During the months of April, May and June on evenings that the moon is not visible, the Lake Afton Public Observatory will present “30 years of Astronomy – the Dark Sky.”

The program will be presented on Friday and Saturday evenings, April 1-2, 22-23, and 29-30; May 20-21 and 27-28; and June 3-4, 17-18 and 24-25.

For visitors who want to see the moon and its craters, Saturn and a distant star with planets of its own, the observatory is holding another program, “30 years of Astronomy – Moon & Planets.”

It will be presented on Friday and Saturday evenings, April 8-9 and 15-16; May 6-7 and 13-14; and June 10-11.

The observatory is operated by the Fairmount Center for Science and Mathematics Education, a part of the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Science at Wichita State University.
