Lake Afton Observatory hosting telescope fair

The Lake Afton Public Observatory, in cooperation with the Kansas Astronomical Observers, will host a telescope fair from 7:30-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.

Members of the Kansas Astronomical Observers will set up some of their telescopes and will be available to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of telescopes.

The observatory will also present its regularly scheduled program that evening, “Astronomical Zoo.” Visitors can observe Jupiter, a multiple star, a globular cluster of stars, a planetary nebula and a nearby galaxy.

The program is from 7:30-10 p.m.
