'Sex Ed Boot Camp: Taking Care of Your Privates'

“Sex Ed Boot Camp: Taking Care of Your Privates” is the title of a presentation at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Wichita State University’s Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex, 5015 E. 29th Street North. Admission is free.

This is not your high school sex education lecture. This program is designed to engage students in conversation about love, sex and everything in between.

Sexologists Joni Frater and Esther Lastique have been featured in Playboy and Cosmopolitan and on Maxim Sirius XM Radio, and are on a mission to help students deal with the challenges of sexuality in a college atmosphere. This dynamic duo uses honesty, sensitivity and humor to teach students:

  • To own and celebrate their sexuality as they define it
  • Advanced techniques to maximize pleasure while playing it safe
  • To learn the difference between hooking up and making love

This event is sponsored by WSU Student Health Services, athletics, Counseling and Testing, Housing and Residence Life, Office of Multicultural Affairs and Student Activities Council.

With an average of 70 percent of college students identifying as sexually active, STD rates have become startling. Although basic safe sex may have been covered in high school, young adults

are curious about what it actually means to become sexual.
