Wichita State 'goes Latin' with 2012 Wichita Jazz Festival

The Wichita Jazz Festival will celebrate its 41st year by “going Latin” from Wednesday, April 18, through Saturday, April 21, at venues in the community and at Wichita State University.

Jazz Goes Latin, this year’s theme, will feature some of the world’s best-loved Latin jazz players, including trumpeters Gabriel Alegria, Miguel Zenon, Terence Blanchard and legendary percussionist Poncho Sanchez.

Events include concerts, a film screening, the WSU Jazz Invitational, an artist talk and a creativity workshop for middle and high school students.

WSU students can get a limited number of free tickets or vouchers to paid events on a first-come first-served basis through the WSU College of Fine Arts Box Office at (316) 978-3233 or www.wichita.edu/fineartsboxoffice.
