More than 2,225 students are eligible to participate in the 114th spring commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday, May 11-12, at Wichita State University. Ceremonies will be held in Charles Koch Arena.
Undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred in individual college ceremonies.
Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
About 780 liberal arts and sciences students are eligible to participate in commencement exercises at 3 p.m. Friday, May 11. Mildred Edwards will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Betty M. Drees, dean of the School of Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
College of Health Professions
About 350 health professions students are eligible to participate in commencement at 7 p.m. Friday, May 11. Mildred Edwards will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be James Rhatigan, consultant to the WSU Foundation.
W. Frank Barton School of Business
About 375 business students are eligible to participate in commencement at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 12. Juana “Janie” Perkins will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Ted Vlamis, president/chief executive officer of Pioneer Balloon Co.
College of Education
More than 330 education students are eligible to graduate in a ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12. Juana “Janie” Perkins will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The speaker will be Rhonda Turner, licensed clinical marriage and family therapist at Pathway Family Counseling Center.
College of Engineering
Almost 300 engineering students are eligible to graduate in a ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12. Juana “Janie” Perkins will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Ihssane Mounir, vice president of sales and marketing for greater China, Taiwan and Korea at Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
College of Fine Arts
More than 100 fine arts students are eligible to graduate in this ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12. Juana “Janie” Perkins will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The speaker will be Matt Wilson, a 2011 Grammy nominee and celebrated jazz artist.
