Former mayor Bob Knight receives WSU Hugo Award

A former Wichita mayor and a state association executive was honored at Wichita State University’s Hugo Wall School of Urban and Public Affairs’ Celebration of Excellence Thursday, May 10, at City Arts.

Bob Knight, former Wichita mayor and City Council member, received the Hugo Award.

The Hugo Wall Award, named after the school founder Hugo Wall, recognizes an individual for outstanding service and dedication to the school.

The award was created to honor public servants who continuously give back to others through professional development and commitment to the next generation of public administrators.

Brad Mears, director of operations, Kansas Municipal Utilities, McPherson, received the school’s Alumni Award for Outstanding Public Service.

Hugo Wall School 2012-2013 fellowship recipients also were announced and 2012 Master of Public Administration graduates honored.
