An estimated 40 percent of businesses do not reopen after a disaster, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Of those that do reopen, 25 percent fail within one year.
Wichita State’s Kansas Small Business Development Center (KSBDC), in partnership with WSU’s Center for Innovation and Emprise Engagement, will host a workshop and panel discussion featuring national and local disaster preparedness, and continuity and recovery experts from 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at WSU’s Hughes Metropolitan Complex, 29th Street North and Oliver.
The event is open to small-business decision makers and owners. Registration is $20 in advance at www.wichita.edu/ksbdc/register, or $30 at the door.
