Wichita State forum to discuss tax policies in Kansas

The Hugo Wall School of Urban and Public Affairs at Wichita State University and Student Involvement are sponsoring a forum called Kansas Tax Forum.

The event is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the Hughes Metropolitan Complex.

Legislators will present information supportive and critical of Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback’s proposals for changes in income and sales taxes.

They will also report on legislative action to date. Participants will be invited to ask questions about the proposed policies and their implications for higher education and all aspects of state policy.

This is an important social issue, and all are invited to attend and be informed.

Representatives in attendance will be Secretary of Revenue Nick Jordan and Senator Tom Holland.
