About 2,100 students are eligible to participate in the 110th spring commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday, May 16-17, at Wichita State University. Ceremonies will be held in Charles Koch Arena.

Undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred in individual college ceremonies.

Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

About 825 liberal arts and sciences students are eligible to participate in commencement exercises at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 16. Richard (Dick) Hedges will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Nancy Martin, chief operation officer of Emergency Services.

College of Health Professions

About 240 health professions students are eligible to participate in commencement at 7 p.m. Friday, May 16. Richard (Dick) Hedges will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Rosalind Scudder, professor and graduate coordinator for the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Health Professions at Wichita State University.

W. Frank Barton School of Business

More than 385 business students are expected to complete their degrees this spring or summer. The commencement ceremony will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 17. Richard (Dick) Hedges will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Ann Konecny, president and chairman of Foley Equipment Co., president of Foley Rental, and president of Foley Rebuild Center.

College of Education

About 300 education students are eligible to graduate in a ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17. William (Bill) Thornton will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The speaker will be Howard Pitler, senior director of curriculum and instruction at Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning (McREL).

College of Engineering

About 235 engineering students are eligible to graduate in a ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17. William (Bill) Thornton will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Bret Weber, chief architect and fellow at Engenio Storage Group, LSI Corp.

College of Fine Arts

More than 110 fine arts students are eligible to graduate in this ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17. William (Bill) Thornton will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The speaker will be Tom Frye, professional actor, director, playwright, producer and choreographer.
