Competition recruits engineering students to Wichita State

The Wallace Invitational for Scholarships in Engineering (WISE) competition is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 15, at Wichita State University’s Hughes Metropolitan Complex. High school seniors interested in participating must register on the College of Engineering website by Friday, Nov. 1. 

Ten $20,000 Wallace scholarships will be awarded to entering freshman for four years of study. Additionally, $12,000 Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems scholarships, $10,000 Cessna and Beech scholarships, and more will be awarded.

Female students competing in WISE with composite and math ACT scores of 26 or better may qualify to receive a renewable scholarship of $1,000 (a four-year total of $4,000), depending on availability of funds.

Eligibility requirements include a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 and a recommended ACT score of 26. Students must declare a major in engineering.
