In support of its mission to produce high-quality professionals to strengthen Wichita’s economic development, Wichita State University’s W. Frank Barton School of Business has appointed a new associate dean of graduate studies in business, Khawaja Saeed.

Saeed is an associate professor of information systems from the Department of Finance, Real Estate and Decision Sciences. He holds an MBA from Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand and a doctorate in Information Systems from University of South Carolina.

He’s been at WSU since 2004, during which time he’s taught classes at all levels. Saeed has received numerous awards as a researcher, writer and instructor, and serves on the Technology Board of Meritrust Credit Union and in numerous other positions.

“We are excited that Dr. Saeed accepted the position,” said Cindy Claycomb, interim dean and professor at the Barton School. “As associate dean for graduate studies in business, his new position demonstrates the Barton School of Business’s renewed effort toward graduate education.”

That’s an important focus for the business college, which combines the widest range of undergraduate degrees in the state and provides extensive hands-on learning opportunities thanks to its location in Kansas’ largest business community. Graduate-level studies at the Barton School include MBA, Executive MBA, Master in Accountancy and Master in Economics programs, making it a top choice for graduate students.

“The graduate programs at the Barton School of Business offer great value and excellent potential for growth,” said Saeed. “We can realize this potential by imparting skills that organizations need and assisting students in their career development. I am excited about the future of graduate education at Barton School of Business.”

Fields of study at the Barton School include accounting, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, economics, finance, real estate, decision sciences and management information systems.
