Miss America 2014, Nina Davuluri, will be the keynote speaker for the Office of Multicultural Affairs Women’s History Month at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Wichita State University’s Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex, 5015 E. 29th Street N.

The event is free and open to the public.

Davuluri is the first Indian American woman to win the title of Miss America. She will speak on her platform, “Celebrating Diversity through Cultural Competency.” Davuluri has launched a social media campaign called Circles of Unity to promote a dialogue of diversity in a constructive and civil manner.

WSU’s Office of Multicultural invited Davuluri to the university to help bring together students from diverse backgrounds through sponsorships on and off campus.

The event is being sponsored by several campus departments and area businesses, including the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of International Education, The Hilton Garden Inn and Worldwide Limousine Service.
