Wichita State hosting seminar on government contracting

Kansas businesses have an opportunity to learn the do’s and don’ts of dealing with government contracting officials on Tuesday, April 29, at a free seminar offered by Wichita State University’s Kansas Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) and Kansas Small Business Development Center (KSBDC).

The seminar will be held from 9 a.m.-noon at the Marcus Welcome Center and will feature small business and government contracts attorney Steven Koprince, who will cover proposal discussions and negotiations; change orders and directives; ethical rules and restrictions; real-life scenarios and practical tips. Registration is available on the Kansas PTAC website.

“Mr. Koprince will bring valuable information to Kansas businesses to encourage them in approaching government decision-makers about their goods and services proactively without violating the rules of engagement,” said Kansas PTAC Director Terri Bennett. “We were impressed by Mr. Koprince’s recent presentation on ethics in government contracting to approximately 400 members of the Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers.”

Koprince’s practice focuses on helping small businesses navigate the federal marketplace. He regularly speaks on subjects such as the Federal Acquisition Regulations, the SBA affiliation rules, and other legal matters important to small government contractors.
