College of Engineering at Wichita State to host open house

Wichita State University’s College of Engineering will host its 59th annual Engineering Open House on Friday, May 9. More than 500 guests from local industry and Wichita area K-12 schools, as well as faculty, staff, parents and friends, are expected to attend.

Student research and senior design projects will be on display throughout the engineering buildings on campus. Student projects include improvements for medical waste incinerators, wing air foil designs, electric grid indicators, modifications of lift mechanisms for cadaver tanks and more.

Engineering laboratories will be open to the public for tours and demonstrations, including the National Institute for Aviation Research laboratories, the bioengineering laboratories and the nanotechnology laboratory. Engineering laboratories will be open for public viewing from 1-5 p.m.
