WSU School of Nursing to host student workshop

The Wichita State University School of Nursing will host the Kansas State Board of Nursing Student Workshop from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Hughes Metropolitan Complex, Lowe Auditorium.

"The School of Nursing is pleased to host the Board of Nursing event that will help prepare students to become registered nurses in the state of Kansas," said, Betty Smith-Campbell, chair of the School of Nursing at WSU.

The workshop was created because of interest that included 270 students and 30 faculty members from WSU. Confirmation to attend has been received from Wichita State, Newman University, Wichita Area Technical College and Breckinridge School of Nursing & Health Sciences at ITT Tech Wichita.

It is designed to aid the nursing students to understand the role of the Kansas State Board of Nursing, important information regarding licensure and the licensure examination, how to incorporate social media correctly in their professional careers and to understand the disciplinary process.

“This is a wonderful service that our Kansas State Board of Nursing offers to the future nurses of Kansas,” said Brandy Jackson, director of the undergraduate nursing program at WSU.
