The "Community Analysis" workshop will train participants to use U.S. Census Bureau data, the most relied-on source for detailed, up-to-date socioeconomic statistics.

The virtual training is a three-part series taking place at 10 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 15-17.

There is no cost to attend this webinar series. The event is presented by the U.S. Census Bureau, Denver Region, and is sponsored by Wichita State University's Center for Economic Development and Business Research and Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs.

The lab is designed for city/county staff, tribal government staff, nonprofit advocacy and social service delivery organizations that use data for budget analysis, grant-writing, needs assessment and planning.

In a live computer-lab setting, students will use the American Factfinder data search tool; conduct searches using Census 2010 for population numbers/basic characteristics; and American Community Survey for social/economic characteristics, such as educational attainment, income, occupation, commuting to work, poverty status, nativity and selected homeowner costs.
