ATAI offers applied learning for business majors

Wichita State University's Applied Technology Acceleration Institute is continuing to make the Innovation Campus concept real for all students, including those studying business, marketing and graphic design.

New technology solution development agreements totaling more than $2 million will allow ATAI to hire eight additional students to work as business and marketing analysts, technical marketing developers, web and software developers and test validation engineers. ATAI expects to hire up to 30 students during the next two years.

Wichita State students hired by ATAI will work directly with ATAI partners to test data storage solution infrastructures and prepare complete documentation for business partners and customers to use for solution implementation.

“Wichita State is committed to providing applied learning opportunities for students in every major concentration,” said WSU President John Bardo. “ATAI is working to identify opportunities to expose students to a wide range of career opportunities available in the technology industry.”

“Organizations continue to transform as new and emerging technologies present opportunities and challenges,” said ATAI Executive Director Ken Russell. “ATAI will position WSU students for relevant careers in a fast-changing world.”

The project will also further ATAI’s expertise in social knowledge, leveraging the Jive enterprise social platform software to share and catalog project information.

The Applied Technology Acceleration Institute at Wichita State University promotes a practical approach to solving complex technology problems and is focused on building strong partnerships and providing experiential learning opportunities for students.
