More than 2,400 students are eligible to participate in the 117th spring commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday, May 15-16, at Wichita State University. All ceremonies will be held in Charles Koch Arena.
Undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred in individual college ceremonies.
All six commencement ceremonies will be live-streamed on the Internet at www.wichitastate.tv/live.
Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
More than 850 liberal arts and sciences students are eligible to participate in commencement exercises at 3 p.m. Friday, May 15. Andy Tompkins will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Terri Moses, executive director of Safety Services for Wichita Public Schools.
College of Health Professions
About 400 health professions students are eligible to participate in commencement at 7 p.m. Friday, May 15. Andy Tompkins will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Beth Tully, founder of Cocoa Dolce Artisan Chocolates.
College of Engineering
More than 500 engineering students are eligible to graduate in a ceremony at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 16. Andy Tompkins will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Bob Bailey, former distinguished engineer with Apple Computer.
College of Education
Nearly 230 education students are eligible to graduate in a ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16. Andy Tompkins will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The speaker will be Randy Ellsworth, director for Research and Evaluation Services in the College of Education at Wichita State University.
W. Frank Barton School of Business
About 315 business students are eligible to participate in commencement at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16. Andy Tompkins will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The commencement speaker will be Shawn Lancelot, market executive for U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management.
College of Fine Arts
About 100 fine arts students are eligible to graduate in a ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16. Andy Tompkins will represent the Kansas Board of Regents. The speaker will be Bruce VanOsdel, 3-D art instructor at Northeast Magnet High School, USD 259.
