The Wichita State Student Government Association is hosting a send-off party in support of Hannah Wagner, Miss Kansas and Wichita State student, from 1-2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at the Rhatigan Student Center east patio. Faculty, staff, students and community members are welcome to attend.

Wagner will speak about her time as a Shocker, her future plans as Miss Kansas and her platform, “The Bold Initiative,” which fights women’s complacency in the workplace.

Wagner is traveling to Atlantic City, New Jersey, to prepare for the Miss America Pageant, which takes place Sunday, Sept. 13. She plans to return to Wichita State after the competition to resume her studies.
