On Oct. 2, 1970, a plane carrying 40 people -- coaches, staff, fans and members of the Wichita State football team -- crashed into a Colorado mountainside. The site is still littered with pieces of wreckage from the plane crash. It is an eerie and permanent reminder of the heartbreaking loss of 31 members of the Shocker community. This Friday, Oct. 2, on the 45th anniversary of the crash, Wichita Public Radio will present the documentary "The Pieces that Remain: Remembering the WSU Plane Crash," from KMUW News.
