Wichita State University's School of Performing Arts brings a suspense-filled murder-mystery to stage in Welsbacher Theatre.

"Wrong Window," the student-produced show will take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday Nov. 18-21, and 2 p.m. Saturday-Sunday Nov. 21-22, in Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Seating in the performance venue is limited.

General admission is $10, with $8 discount tickets available for seniors, faculty/staff and military or $6 tickets for children and students. “Wrong Window,” by Billy Van Zandt & Jane Milmore, is a spoof of Alfred Hitchcock’s film “Rear Window.” New York couple Jeff and Marnie enter a challenging phase of their relationship when they believe they see their neighbor kill his wife. Once the wife goes “missing,” suspicion spreads as the couple and their neighbors sneak in and out of the apartment. Among door slammings, body snatchings and a frantic flashlight chase, two questions remain. Who killed Lila Larswald? And if she’s not dead, who is?

The show is a part of the theater program’s student-produced Second Stage series. In this series, students are responsible for all aspects of the production. Show choice, design work, technical direction and building show students how to develop direction, acting and promotion. Through this applied learning experience, students pursuing careers in the fields of art and entertainment have the opportunity to learn hands on how to take a show from conception to completion.

The cast of “Wrong Window” includes performance majors Robert Thomas, Christian James and Jessica Curtiss; musical theater majors Noah Montgomery, Liz Jarmer, Kristen Bock and Jennie Hughes; and communications major Ryan Crews.

“Wrong Window” is directed by musical theater major Alex Casteneda and stage managed by theater major Remy Lierz. Student designers include theater design and technology majors Kyla Mansfield (sets), Alexie Pearce (costumes), Brandon Riney (lights), James Laning (sound), and theater major Lance Vaillencourt (props). Theater design & technology major Joe Asbridge serves as technical director for the show.
