Ulrich Museum hosts 'Art for Your Ears' summer concert series

Wichita State University’s Ulrich Museum of Art is hosting the “Art for Your Ears” summer concert series at WSU’s McKnight Outdoor Plaza.

The event is free and open to the public. Guests are asked to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the refreshments provided.

The first concert of the series features blues guitarist Spencer Bohren from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 7. Bohren performs blues, country, gospel and original songs while telling stories of his adventures traveling around the world.

Moreland and Arbuckle, an acoustic duo, will perform from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25. The duo will perform Delta and Mississippi hill country blues, folk and traditional country music combined with southern soul.

Jazz legend Bobby Watson will complete the concert series from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15. The WSU Jazz Band will accompany him to kick off the celebration of the “Joan Miro mosaic Personnages Oiseaux’s” return to the Ulrich Museum.

The rain location for the concerts is the CAC Theater.
