WSU Foundation announces new and renewing board members for FY17

New members of the Wichita State University Foundation board of directors for fiscal year 2017 are Martin Bauer, Denis Dieker, ’77, ’80, and Mike James, ’71.

Bauer is a partner with Martin, Pringle, Oliver, Wallace & Bauer LLP; Dieker is chief financial officer of Midwest Drywall Co. Inc.; and James is U.S. chairman of Bio Products Laboratories.

Board member Clark Bastian, ’75, is renewing his second term. He is CEO/chairman of Fidelity Bank.

New, returning board members are Debbie Haynes, ’76, and Barry Schwan. Haynes is a retired physician and Schwan is president of House of Schwan.

The 19-member board is chaired by Paul Allen, ’70, CEO of Allen Gibbs & Houlik LC. Board members are eligible to serve two three-year terms. They also are part of the WSU Foundation National Advisory Council (NAC) and participate on one of the 10 standing committees: audit, faculty/staff fundraising award, giving, governance, investment, marketing/communications, NAC nominating, operations, real estate and Ulrich Advisory Board.

Bauer chairs the Ulrich Museum advisory board; Dieker serves on the giving and operations committees; James serves on the marketing/communications committee; Bastian is chairman of the NAC nominating committee; Haynes serves on the NAC nominating and governance committees; and Schwan serves on the NAC nominating committee.
