KMUW celebrates Charlie Christian throughout July with electric guitarists

KMUW-FM, 89.1, Wichita State University's listener-supported radio station, will honor the 100th birthday of jazz guitar pioneer Charlie Christian throughout the month of July.

Artists featured include blues legend Buddy Guy on “Crossroads,” Latin rock great Carlos Santana on “Global Village;” Charlie Christian’s centennial and the electric guitar in jazz on “Night Train;” Jonathan Butler, George Benson, Johnny Guitar Watson and Israel Houghton on “Soulsations;” and Carlos Santana, Peter Green and Jeff Beck on “Strange Currency.”
