'All Loves Excelling' continues holiday tradition, joins WSU choirs

Wichita State University choirs continue holiday traditions with the 54th annual Candlelight Concert, "All Loves Excelling," at 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Dec. 2-3, and 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in Wiedemann Concert Hall.

The concert will feature a variety of music in the spirit of the season with favorites, "Beautiful Savior" and "Personent Hodie." Other highlights include "Hope for Resolution" by Caldwell and Ivory and "Ave Maria" by Franz Biebl.

WSU's Concert Chorale and Women's Glee Club will perform conducted by Michael Hanawalt, director of choral activities, along with the A Cappella Choir and Madrigal Singers conducted by Tom Wine, program director of music education.

Each choir will perform individually, as well as together as a massed choir. Also featured will be organist Lynne Davis, Robert L. Town faculty of distinction.

Modeled after the famous St. Olaf College Christmas Festival, the Candlelight Concert is the longest-running musical tradition at Wichita State.
