Science Olympiad bringing more than 1,000 students to WSU

The 22nd Annual Kansas Science Olympiad will be held 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Wichita State University.

The Science Olympiad is a statewide competition that helps make science fun for more than 1,000 middle and high school students, who demonstrate their knowledge, ability and skills in all areas of science.

Students participate in events such as:

  • Building a robot that can pick up objects and place them in a container.
  • Designing and building the lightest bridge capable of supporting a given mass.
  • Designing, building and flying a rubber band-powered airplane that remains aloft for as long as possible.

Events will take place in various venues throughout campus.
