The third annual Center for Entrepreneurship Awards Banquet will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, May 1, at the Hyatt Regency Wichita.

It is hosted by the Center for Entrepreneurship and W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University, as well as Mitchell & Richards, Intrust Bank and Commerce Bank.

The winners of the Shocker Business Plan Competition, which is designed to encourage student innovation and venture creation by providing a forum where students can present new business ideas to local business and community leaders, will be announced. Special recognition also will be given to this year’s graduates.

The guest speaker will be Joe Pinto, senior vice president of technical services at Cisco.

Since joining Cisco in 1991, Pinto has evolved and innovated the services organization to address the changing needs of its business and customers.

The cost of the banquet is $30 per person.
