Mary Herrin assumes VP role at Wichita State

Mary Herrin, associate vice president for administration and finance at Wichita State University, has been chosen as the successor to Roger Lowe, who is retiring from full-time work after 45 years at WSU.

Herrin, who has worked for Lowe for 34 years, is now vice president for administration and finance.

Lowe, 75, is stepping down, but remaining at Wichita State. He will work part-time on special projects and support Herrin in the transition.

As vice president for administration and finance, Herrin is responsible for budget, financial operations and business technology, human resources, facilities planning, purchasing, physical plant and WSU Police.

She reports directly to WSU President Don Beggs.

“Roger has been an outstanding mentor over the years,” Herrin said. “He has established a reputation for fiscal integrity and a commitment to always doing things in the best way possible for WSU. Roger also instilled in his staff the importance of being a team that worked hard yet knew how to laugh and enjoy each other. I am honored and humbled to follow in his footsteps.”
