Annual Car Show planned at Wichita State

The 9th Annual Wichita State University Car Show will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, in the parking lot north of 17th Street and Hillside Avenue on the WSU campus.

The event is sponsored by the WSU Classified Senate and employees. Proceeds will be donated to the Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy Fund, which supports the transportation of children to Shrine hospitals.

Early birds pay just $15. Day of show is $20. Goody bags and dashboard plaques will be awarded for the first 100 entries.

A trophy will be awarded for Best of Show. In addition there will be plaques awarded for President’s Choice, First Lady’s Choice and Top 25 vehicles. Certificates will be awarded for Club Participation, Most Unique, Best Emergency Vehicle, Best WSU Employee Vehicle, Best Work in Progress, Best Motorcycle and Best Competition.

The car show will have food vendors and a DJ on site for all to enjoy. There will be prize giveaways for car show participants and great prizes for drawings.

Tickets are available to everyone for $1 each or seven for $5. All early bird participants will be entered into a drawing to win an additional prize.

The car show is usually held in spring, but the April event was postponed because of inclement weather.
