Five Wichita State University Rudd Scholars will be pursuing a degree with the W. Frank Barton School of Business. The Rudd Scholarship, sponsored by the Rudd Foundation, provides each recipient with a full-ride scholarship, including tuition, fees and on-campus housing. Rudd Scholars are also provided with networking and coaching support throughout college.
“The Rudd Foundation’s scholarship program is a powerful and transformational opportunity for Kansas high school students,” said Dr. Larisa Genin, Dean of the Barton School of Business. “These students are some of the brightest and most determined individuals our state has to offer.”
The Rudd Scholarship Program supports Pell Grant-eligible high school students in the state of Kansas and works to help them achieve their long-term goals through grit and determination. The scholarship can be applied toward studies at Emporia State University, Fort Hays State University or Wichita State University. This year, 18 future WSU students were awarded the Rudd Scholarship. Of those, the following five have chosen to major in business:
- Hayden Hartung - Hesston High School (Accounting major)
- Isabella Killman - Valley Center High School (Marketing major)
- Zain Maknojia - Halstead High School (Accounting major)
- Erik Moreno - Wichita South High School (Finance major)
- Jade Simeona – Goddard High School (Marketing major)
“We believe that the opportunities and knowledge we provide can transform our students, our school and our community,” said Dr. Genin. “Our state-of-the-art Barton facilities, exemplary faculty and network of industry professionals are world class. We’re excited to guide these five Rudd Scholars to become business leaders of the future.”
