The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University has been reaffirmed for all business and accounting programs by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for the next five years. This double accreditation keeps the Barton School in the top 1% of business schools worldwide. The Barton School has held AACSB accreditation since 1970.
“Our double accreditation is a testament to the high-quality education and experience delivered for our students and speaks volumes to the high caliber of our faculty, staff and other key stakeholders,” said Dr. Larisa Genin, Dean of the Barton School.
For schools with current accreditations, AACSB conducts reviews every five years to ensure they meet the organization’s stringent standards. The rigorous external review process includes examining the school’s mission, strategic planning, faculty and staff qualifications, programs, curriculum, and many other significant and measurable effects a business school has on society as a whole.
“Every AACSB-accredited school has demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development and student learning,” said Stephanie Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB, in a statement congratulating each recently accredited institution. “The intense peer-review process exemplifies their commitment to quality business education.”
Established in 1916, AACSB International (AACSB) is the world’s largest business education alliance, connecting educators, learners and business to create the next generation of great leaders. With a presence in more than 100 countries and territories, AACSB fosters engagement, accelerates innovation and amplifies impact in business education.
“Receiving AACSB accreditation is a monumental achievement for any business school,” said Dr. Shirley Lefever, executive vice president and provost at Wichita State University. “Congratulations to the Barton School on maintaining more than 50 years of AACSB accreditation and continuing to provide top business education for generations.”
