WSU research will help reduce weight, cost of high-speed missiles
National Institute for Aviation Research has partnered with the U.S. Department of Defense, receiving a three-year, $33 million contract from the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center for a project focused on emerging materials for high-speed missile applications.
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 at NCAT July 22
U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran invites you to join him and NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine for a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, and a discussion on our “Next Giant Leap” from 10:30 a.m.-noon Monday, July 22, at the National Center for Aviation Training, 4004 N. Webb Road. RSVP here.
The event will include a NASA video premiere, remarks from Moran and Bridenstine, and a panel on getting back to the moon addressing topics such as STEM and workforce initiatives.

Plan to attend the AfterShocks Tourney Tip-Off event
The Shocker Store is hosting the official public AfterShocks event to kick off TBT week- the AfterShocks Tourney Tip-Off! Join us from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at Shocker Store Braeburn Square. Get autographs from AfterShocks players, shop for AfterShocks merchandise, get discounts on Shocker gear, enjoy refreshments from our grill or bar area, and play some yard games. Plus, enter to win tickets to TBT to watch the AfterShocks play!
One autographed item per person. The first 250 people in the door receive a free photo to be autographed, in addition to their own item. Photographs are permitted during the autograph session, but players will not pose for pictures.

Single-session tickets for The Basketball Tournament (TBT) Wichita Regional – July 25-28 at Charles Koch Arena -- are on sale now, starting at just $15.
Fans may purchase seats online at GoShockers.com/Tickets or through the Shocker Ticket Office -- by phone (316-978-FANS) or in person (southwest corner of Charles Koch Arena) -- during normal business hours (M-F, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.).
Time at WSU helped student build successful business
In 2017, Eddie Sandoval's business, Pinole Blue, won the Shocker New Venture Competition,
receiving $10,000 to get his company off the ground. Now the business finance alum
is finding success with Pinole Blue, which has grown faster than he could have hoped.

Pumpkin Run registration is now open
Join runners and walkers at 9 a.m. Oct. 19, for a fun journey through one of the prettiest
campuses in Kansas. As a participant of the USATF-Certified Pumpkin Run 5K, you will
receive a customized T-shirt, post-race snacks and an opportunity to mingle and chat
with fellow runners and local vendors in the Runner Village. The 4th annual 1K Little
Pumpkin Fun Run for ages 0-12 will start at 10:20 a.m. All little runners will receive
a participation gift and T-shirt. We look forward to seeing you on the course.
