Aliyah Funschelle is a Wichita State junior studying sport management and is the campus
representative for the American Athletic Conference and its digital network.
In her position with the AAC, Aliyah interviews Shocker student-athletes, providing their in-depth stories to the network.
The internship combines Aliyah’s her love of reporting with her passion for sports. In her time there, she has covered the NCAA Tournament, AAC conference tournaments and the National Invitational Tournament.
“I feel like if I were at a different school, I wouldn’t have those opportunities,” Aliyah says. “Wichita State just really helps place you where you’re meant to be. They want to see you succeed.”
