A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, on the front drive of the Hyatt, located 4703 E. 19th St. North (19th and Oliver). Media are welcome to attend.
The new hotel features the Hyatt Place brand’s intuitive design, casual atmosphere and practical amenities, such as free Wi-Fi and 24-hour food offerings. The hotel is owned by Shocker Lodging LLC and Managed by Lodging One Hospitality LLC.
This is the first hotel on the Wichita State campus and is expected to draw people to Wichita for campus visits, athletic events and visitors working with campus partners.
Because Hyatt’s efforts are grounded in listening and fueled by care, Hyatt Place hotels combine style, innovation and 24/7 conveniences to create an easy to navigate experience for today’s multi-tasking traveler.
The hotel is located on Wichita State’s Innovation Campus, within walking distance of Fuzzy’s Tacos, Journey East Asia Grill, the Shocker Store and Starbucks, as well as such businesses as Airbus Americas, NetApp, the Law Enforcement Training Center and soon Deloitte’s Smart Factory @ Wichita. It is also just minutes from access to K-96 and 135, making traveling to and from the hotel easy.

Hyatt Place at Wichita State University is under the leadership of General Manager Tami Barker, Assistant General Manager Tyrone Shannon and Director of Sales Kylie Depew.
