Meet a Shocker: Sierra Gladman

 

Sierra Gladman came to Wichita State to learn graphic design in a beneficial and local environment. She wants to help a company grow using her graphic design skills.

Sierra is one of more than 3,500 students eligible for spring/summer 2021 graduation. Learn more about her time at Wichita State and what is next for the grad. 

What degree did you earn?

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.

What led you to Wichita State?

The opportunity to learn graphic design in a good environment that’s close to home.

How are you feeling leading up to graduation?

I am excited and nervous to be done with school and see where life takes me.

What has been your most helpful learning experience while a student at Wichita State?

It was definitely my internship at Strategic Communications.

What was been your biggest challenge as a student, and how did you overcome it?

Passing Algebra was my biggest challenge as a student. After taking it five times, I overcame it by going to tutors and working hard.

What are your plans after graduation?

I want to work somewhere that I can continue to grow and design cool things.

How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected your time at Wichita State or your post-graduation plans?

It was a strange adjustment having all my classes online through Zoom, but after doing it for a year, it’s not too bad.

What advice would you give other Wichita State students?

I would say work hard but enjoy your college years.
