What is your hometown?
Guadalajara, Mexico
What made you choose Wichita State University?
I chose WSU for its strong community connections between what I want to do and the university and because my parents live in Wichita.
What has been your biggest challenge as a student, and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge while I've been a student has probably been juggling so many commitments. It will all pay off whenever I receive my diploma and when I get to travel.
What's your favorite off-campus location in Wichita?
What would be the title of your autobiography?
"The Mestizo Linguist"
What are your plans after graduation?
I have studied abroad three times, and I'm going on my fourth and fifth study abroad trips this summer; and I save money and take my backpack and just backpack solo travel every chance I get. I also plan to pursue a Ph.D. in linguistics.
What advice would you give other Wichita State students?
My advice to other Wichita State students is go to events, connect with other professionals in your field, study abroad and never lose sight of your goals and dreams.
