Enrollment for spring 2021 classes starts soon. Have you checked your myWSU account recently? Do you have any active holds preventing you from enrolling? If so, you will need to use the time between now and the first day of enrollment to complete your requirements and clear your holds so you are eligible to enroll as early as possible.
Depending on your degree program, you may be required to meet with a faculty member or an advisor prior to enrolling. Don’t know where to go? Visit the advising website for contact information and locations of our academic advising centers. You may also schedule an advising appointment directly from your student portal.
Log in to your myWSU portal and click on “Schedule an Advising Appt.” in the “Student Tools” box.

Women in STEAM Week is held every year in October. This year we're celebrating Oct. 12-18, with the gala kicking things off today (Monday, Oct. 12). This annual event was created to honor the women throughout history who have paved the way for future innovators in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM), and to empower the next generation so that they can accomplish anything they dream.

Fire alarm testing to occur throughout fall
WSU Fire Safety along with Sandifer Engineering will conduct required annual fire alarm testing in all campus buildings. These tests are important to ensure the fire alarm systems are operating properly.
There is no specific day or time any one building will be tested. These tests could last through the end of November.
On the Innovation Campus, tests will be conducted at the Crash Lab, Law Enforcement Training Center, John Bardo Center, The Flats and The Suites only.
Every effort will be made to minimize disruption to daily business and classes. If the fire alarm does go off, evacuate the building unless directed otherwise.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we test these critical life safety systems.

Engineers Without Borders to meet today
Do you enjoy helping others? Are you interested in solving problems? Do you feel a need to give back to your community and communities around the world? Engineers Without Borders is a place where all of those can happen.
EWB is a non-profit humanitarian organization established to partner with developing communities worldwide to improve their quality of life. The WSU Chapter of EWB is involved in multiple projects around the Wichita area such as Clinic In A Can, where you can help turn storage containers into portable health clinics, along with projects through Habitat for Humanity and international projects as well. EWB is not just for engineers but all Wichita State students ready to meet new people, solve problems and make a positive impact on their community and the world.

The International Student Union announces Fall 2020 INTERFEST: International Food Festival from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, on the lawn of Neff Hall.
Each semester, WSU students prepare and sell dishes from their native countries for this event. The festival provides a platform for intercultural sharing where the WSU community and visitors can try out diverse cuisine and learn about the origins and cultural significance of a particular dish. It also serves as a fundraiser for international student associations, although small groups of students also participate to have as many diverse dishes as possible.
The format has changed from previous semesters - diners will need to preorder and then pick up their food. The order link is here.
