Save the date for State of the University Address

The fall State of the University Address is scheduled from 3-5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, in the Shirley Beggs Ballroom, RSC. President John Bardo and Provost Rick Muma, along with various faculty and staff, will talk about university initiatives. Stay tuned!

Sport Management students are keeping busy this summer

Wichita State Sport Management students have been busy this summer volunteering at The Wichita Open golf tournament. Students in Sport Tournament and Event Management and Business Analytics assisted with tournament operations and a research project.

AmeriCorps VISTA members have a mission to bring individuals and communities out of poverty. Members make a year-long, full-time commitment to serve on a specific project at a nonprofit agency. Get public administration training with MiniMPA

Offered by the Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs and Public Policy & Management Center, MiniMPA is an intensive 16-week training series for public and nonprofit professionals taught by faculty and area practitioners. Classes take place from 8-11 a.m. Friday mornings from September to November and January to February.

Participants will gain core public administration management training and learn about topics including financial, professional and administrative issues presented through lectures, case studies and problem-solving exercises.

This program is for professionals moving into positions of responsibility for managing and delivering public services, specialists seeking broader exposure to public management, public finance and public policy, experienced managers seeking a refresher in the field of public administration and individuals considering a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree. This training can be taken for academic credit.

Traffic notice: Eastbound lanes of WuShock Drive will be down to one lane

The Kansas Gas Service will be doing work on gas lines today (Tuesday, July 10) or Wednesday, July 11 on the eastbound lanes of WuShock Drive near the Gaddis Physical Plant. Please watch out for traffic cones as the street will be reduced down to one lane while the work is conducted. Thank you for your patience.
