Panopto Updates

 

Urgent information for Panopto users

WSU's Panopto service will be upgraded next week to improve service, security, reliability, and the speed of our Panopto tools. The upgrade will require limited downtime.

Here is what you need to know:

  • From 5 p.m. today (Tuesday, July 17) to 8 a.m. Friday, July 20, it will not be possible to create new Panopto recordings.
  • Once the Panopto service returns on Friday morning, you will be prompted to download a new recorder before you will be able to record.
  • Students should be able to access recordings through the upgrade entire process. We regret the inconvenience.


PeopleAdmin System changes effective today (Tuesday, July 17)

Today (Tuesday, July 17) an update will be made to the PeopleAdmin system. This change will not affect the process used to log in to the system. However, it will affect the look of the home page and how components within the system are accessed. Approvers will continue to receive email messages and have access to the PeopleAdmin inbox when an action is required in their PeopleAdmin queue. Instructions to assist users with acclimating to the new format of the system are provided here.

Second Blackboard outage planned in July

From 10 p.m. Friday, July 20, through 6 a.m. Saturday, July 21, Blackboard will be taken offline for critical upgrades. It will not be available during this window. If you have questions, contact the OneStop or Blackboard support.


Space is available in Employment Relationship Training class on Thursday, July 19

Space is available in an Employment Relationship Training class from 3:30-5 p.m. Thursday, July 19, in 264 RSC. To register for training, go to myTraining through myWSU.

This course is provided for leaders who supervise employees (UP, USS, students), and will focus on the overall employment relationship. It will provide guidance on managing performance, setting expectations, how to identify when an employee has not met expectations how to identify when an employee has not met expectations, and how to effectively address those concerns. This could include concerns with attendance, job performance, conflict with coworkers, etc. This training will also introduce you to tools to use to effectively document an unmet expectation. WSU Foundation announces new officers and board members

WSU Foundation

New officers have been named for the WSU Foundation's 18-member Board of Directors. The board will be chaired by Debbie Haynes '76, a retired physician. Chair-elect is Dan Peare, '82, '85. Other officers are Denis Dieker, '77, '80, secretary; Jeff Turner, '83, treasurer; Paul Allen, '70, immediate past chair; Elizabeth King, WSU Foundation president and CEO; and Susan Barrett, assistant treasurer and WSU Foundation vice president for finance and operations.

New board members for fiscal year 2019 are Susayn Brandes '81; Jeff DeGraffenreid, '88; Bill Moore, '74; and Peare.

Brandes is chief executive officer of Great Plains Ventures Inc. DeGraffenreid is a partner in Foulston Siefkin LLP law firm. Moore is the retired CEO of Westar Energy. Peare is a member of Hinkle Law Firm LLC.

Other board members are Clark Bastian, '75; Martin Bauer; Mike James, '71; Jane McHugh, '80; Mike Michaelis; Lynn Nichols; Pam Palmer '85; Barry Schwan; and Chris Shank, '69.

Board members are eligible to serve two three-year terms. They also are part of the WSU Foundation National Advisory Council (NAC) and participate on one of the NAC's 10 standing committees.
