KPERS 457 enrollment and retirement counseling
Experts suggest replacing at least 80 percent of your income in retirement. KPERS and Social Security won't be enough. You need to save on your own, but how do you start?
That's where KPERS 457 comes in. This semester, the Total Rewards team has arranged for KPERS Deferred Compensation 457 Plan representative Robin Deiter to be on campus the first Tuesday of each month. Deiter will accept individual appointments to meet with employees for retirement counseling and enrollment in KPERS 457 plans. Appointments will be 30 minutes each. Notice of contract expirations
The contracts for promotional items expires today (Tuesday, July 31). The new contracts are in the works and will be available in the next couple of days on the WSU Purchasing website, click on the “Purchasing Supplier Contract Awards” link and scroll down to Promotional Items. Daily website update
Training continued with a full-house content management session yesterday. You can see the full training schedule online or by selecting "CMS Training Calendar" from the Add-Ons pulldown menu inside the CMS. The new web support ticketing feature has handled 53 support tickets to date with an average time to completion of 1.7 hours. The number of users has increased to 292.
Work continues to restore all previously existing short URLs, improve the site accessibility and optimize the site search function with Best Bet matches. If you have site search matches that you would like to see added, file a ticket at wichita.edu/websupport and we'll get it added.
The Thursday and Friday (alternating mornings and afternoons) Website Triage open lab sessions will continue this week. If you have not been to a basic training class in OmniUdpate, the new CMS that's only been here for a couple of months, then please sign up for a Basic Training class because triage sessions are for those who have taken basic training. All triage open labs are in 122 Jabara Hall on a first-come, first-served, drop-in, drop-out basis. Mike Marlett, John Jones, Tim Hart and / or Caleb Wilson will be there to answer your questions.

Tip of the day: If you are copying and pasting source code from pages in the old Department Tools system into the new CMS, do not use the "<> Source" button at the top of the screen. Instead, click "Edit" then "Edit Main Content" and click the "<>" button in the tool bar. Paste the source code in and save the work. (You may log in to your old Department Tools site at wichita.edu/dt.)
One lane of Perimeter Drive to close tomorrow (Wednesday, Aug. 1)
Contractors will need to close one lane of Perimeter Drive at the intersection of Perimeter / Mike Oatman / Mid Campus drive tomorrow (Wednesday, Aug. 1) to perform hydro-excavation to locate the depth of the water line in this area in preparation of an upcoming water retention project north of Wilkins Stadium.
Men's basketball season tickets to be released soon
The Shocker Ticket Office expects to have a small supply of 2018-19 Wichita State men's basketball season tickets available for purchase in early August.
Fans interested in becoming new Shocker season ticket holders can move to the front of the line by adding their names to the official waiting list.
To sign up, call 978-FANS (3267) or visit the Shocker Ticket Office on the south side of Charles Koch Arena from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Waiting lists applications are also available on the tickets page at GoShockers.com.
Shocker men's basketball remains Wichita's hottest tickets. During the last five seasons, the team has sold out all but three of its 75 regular-season home dates, including a current steak of 21-consecutive sellouts.
Powerful tool available to help instructors
Wichita State has invested in a powerful tool to help instructors improve accessibility in their classes. The new product, called Ally, is now turned on and working in all of your classes in Blackboard, including classes from previous semesters.
Instructors now see small accessibility dials next to many elements in their Blackboard classes, which are indicators of the relative accessibility of that element and a link to more information and instructions for how to improve the accessibility of that element.
