Update on CourseLeaf Curriculum (CIM)
Because of unforeseen circumstances, the CIM training dates originally set for September have been postponed. Various changes and updates to the Banner course file have been required for the implementation, pushing the timeline further into the academic year.
Thank you to academic departments who have assisted us in this process thus far. Watch for future announcements for details, including dates for January on-site trainings. Faculty should continue to use the paper curriculum change forms until these CIM trainings are completed.
Priorities the topic of Town Hall on Tuesday, Sept. 4
Faculty and staff are invited to participate in a Town Hall from 3-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, in 305 RSC. Among those leading the Town Hall discussion on priorities will be Provost Rick Muma, Gery Markova, director of Faculty Advancement, and Kaye Monk-Morgan, assistant vice president for Academic Affairs.
A wine and cheese social will follow the Town Hall in 301 RSC.
Military and Veteran Services Director candidate meet and greet on Friday, Aug. 31
WSU students, faculty, staff and interested partners are invited to a Military and Veteran Services Director candidate meet and greet on Friday, Aug. 31, at the Captain Riley Leroy Pitts Military and Veteran Student Center in 105 Grace Wilkie Hall.
This is an opportunity for students and interested stakeholders to meet and learn more about the candidates interested in this critical position on campus. The schedule follows:

‘Sip and See' Braeburn Square on Friday, Sept. 28
Come "Sip and See" Wichita State's newest addition, Braeburn Square on the Innovation Campus from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28. This event includes food trucks, a beverage truck, a trivia contest, cornhole tournament and live music by local band TRIBE. This event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration for trivia and cornhole is required.

WSU Police locate source of reports of a woman approaching students
There have been recent reports of someone approaching Wichita State students on campus to ask about their interest in a Bible study. Somehow this got linked to a social media “story” where this was merely a ruse to cover human trafficking. With the help of information supplied from our WSU community, the WSU Police Department was able to determine that the woman in question is a member of a legitimate church here in Wichita.
CHP launches new Sherr Scholarship
The College of Health Professions (CHP) is excited to launch an amazing scholarship opportunity for our students. The Sam & Rosemary Sherr Dean's Excellence award will be available annually to one College of Health Professions student beginning next fiscal year 2020. Retirement reception planned for Frank Rokosz
Frank Rokosz
The Department of Human Performance Studies will host a retirement reception for Frank Rokosz from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, in the Heskett Center lobby. Rokosz is retiring from the university after 45 years of service, and will leave a legacy that includes being the longest-serving faculty member in the College of Applied Studies.
Please join us in the Heskett Center lobby to show our appreciation of his outstanding accomplishments and service to our department, the college and Wichita State University.

The web support site has handled 398 support tickets to date with an average time to completion of 5.1 hours.
There is an open lab today from 3-5 p.m. in Jabara Hall Room 122. There are also new trainings on the schedule for Wednesdays that specifically deal with best practices for images and how to build forms in the new CMS.
CMS trainings and open labs are on the schedule through the end of September.

While publishing a page automatically saves a version that you can revert to at any time using the Versions button, you can also add versions of pages that haven't been published. Just look for the "Save Version" button on any page that is checked out (yellow light bulb must be on). This approach is extremely useful when experimenting with design elements as a safety net. Let's say you add an element that looks good but still want to play with other elements. Save the page, then click the Save Version button to preserve a copy of the page that you can return to at any time. Make sure to add a note so you and/or other users will be able to tell at a glance why you saved that version. To restore the version, click the Versions button and select Revert from the option for that version. |

The WSU Kansas SBDC is hosting a Business Transitions Conference on Thursday, Sept. 20. Topics covered include buying a business, selling a business, how businesses are valued and family business succession planning. If you are interested in attending the conference, go to KSBDCworkshops.
University to observe Labor Day
WSU offices will be closed and classes will not be held Monday, Sept. 3, in observance of Labor Day. Normal schedules will resume Tuesday, Sept. 4.
Welcome the new Ambassadors for Diversity and Inclusion
Last weekend, Ambassadors for Diversity and Inclusion (ADI) welcomed 17 new members into the organization. These individuals had a chance to get to know other ambassadors, while learning about the responsibilities and duties on what it takes to be a change agent for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Wichita State.
These ambassadors assist in developing diversity program initiatives, and being liaisons to various university committees and student organizations. ADI also consists of WSU students who are committed to promoting deep cultural awareness. They strive to build better intercultural relations, while increasing campuswide participation in cross-cultural and multicultural programs.
We are proud and cannot wait to see the exciting growth that these student leaders will have during their time in this organization. Let's all welcome the fall 2018 ambassadors!

Late Night Breakfast to be hosted on Thursday, Sept. 6
WSU Dining Services and Housing & Residence Life will host this semester's Late Night Breakfast (formerly Midnight Breakfast) from 10 p.m.-midnight Thursday, Sept. 6, in Shocker Dining.
Students with Unlimited Access or Premium Unlimited meal plans may use their meal plan, and for all other guests the door rate is $8.25 plus tax. The menu will feature Cherry Jubilee Pancake Bake with Salted Caramel Sauce, Smoked Gouda Hash Brown Casserole, Apple Stuffed Crepes, and much more!
