Recognized Student Organization Town Hall today (Tuesday, Feb. 19)
Provost Rick Muma and Teri Hall, vice president of Student Affairs, will host a Recognized Student Organization Town Hall meeting to answer questions and spark discussion on the Shock the Future Referendum, a student-led campaign that identifies a list of academic and student success infrastructure needs.

Encourage students to participate in the WSU / McBEE Campus Safety Survey
Wichita State University will again participate in a national campus consortium assessing
Title IX safety issues and evaluating the efficacy of previously instituted federal
mandates for providing Bystander Intervention Programming as a means of preventing
sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking on college campuses. We seek your help
in advertising the 2019 WSU / McBEE Campus Safety Survey in your courses.
Students can access the research survey via a unique link emailed to them on Feb. 11, or online through myWSU. (In myWSU, students will need to scroll to the second box on left hand side of the home page). The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete, and students participating in the research will be entered into one of two drawings for $250 scholarships and $50 Amazon Gift Cards. A total of four scholarships and 14 gift cards are being provided by the Title IX office for Spring 2019.

Please encourage your students to consider running for SGA office. The Declaration for Candidacy for the SGA Senate continues to be open.
Senators work on the voting legislative body of SGA, are required to complete two office hours per week, they are able to work on specified initiatives, and attend weekly committee and senate meetings on Wednesdays.
We need your help to identify students who you believe are willing to help shape the direction of the university. Encourage your students and direct them to wichita.edu/sgaelections to learn more.

We will partner with Startup Grind Wichita to bring Steve Feilmeier to campus to speak
about his experiences in an entrepreneurial and innovative position. As a graduate
from Wichita State, Feilmeier has great insight to share with students about how he
became one of the highest ranking individuals at Koch Industries, and the directions
he sees both the company and local students going in the future.

Psychology Department Colloquium planned for Feb. 26
Ryan Schroeder
The presenter for the first Psychology Department Colloquium this spring will feature Ryan Schroeder from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in 265 RSC. He will present “Injured or Exaggerated? Identification of Feigned and Invalid Cognitive Impairment.”
Schroeder is a Board Certified Neuropsychologist and Associate Professor in the Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Department at the University of Kansas School of Medicine - Wichita.
He currently conducts research on invalid cognitive test performances and malingering of cognitive functioning. He has worked on multiple funded research projects and in 2018, he was awarded the Early Career Award from the National Academy of Neuropsychology.

Senior Wednesday: ‘Watermark’ documentary at the Ulrich Museum
We humans interact with water in a myriad of ways, but how often do we consider the complexity of that interaction? “Watermark,” a film by award-winning filmmaker Jennifer Baichwal and renowned photographer Edward Burtynsky, brings together diverse stories from around the globe about our relationship with water, how we are drawn to it, what we learn from it, how we use it and the consequences of that use.
The documentary will be the Senior Wednesday program at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday, Feb. 20) in the Ulrich Museum of Art. Refreshments will precede the program at 10 a.m.
‘The Comedy of Errors’ to be performed this week
“The Comedy of Errors” by William Shakespeare will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 to Saturday, Feb. 23, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, in Wilner Auditorium. One of Shakespeare’s earliest plays, “The Comedy of Errors” is a farcical adventure of mistaken identity and the mayhem that ensues. A mother, a father, twin baby boys and their twin baby servants are separated during a storm at sea. Twenty-three years later one young man and his servant arrive in a town famous for enchantment and wizardry. Unknown to them, their separated-at-birth identical twins already live there. Chaos soon reigns amidst a series of misunderstandings involving a furious wife, confused friends, and a little unexpected romance until all is sorted out and the family is at last happily reunited. Set against the backdrop of 1930s Hollywood, this play is sure to delight the madcap comedy lover in everyone.

Foster tops WSU wins list with sweep over Creighton
Tenth year head coach Colin Foster became WSU's wins leader, as the Shockers collected wins over Nebraska and Creighton
Sunday inside the Dillon Tennis Center.
The Shockers (5-4) collected wins over Louisville (4-1), Nebraska (4-1) and Creighton
(4-0) over the weekend, on their way to four-straight victories after starting the
season 1-4. Foster has compiled an impressive 179-75 record in his 10 years as head
coach.

Graduate student seeking participants for buying habits and product packaging study
Are you the primary grocery shopper in your household? A graduate student in the Elliott School of Communication is looking for focus group participants to discuss buying habits and product packaging. The purpose of this research is to show marketers how to better advertise products through packaging.
The focus groups will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 (ages 35-50), Tuesday, Feb. 26 (ages 50+), Monday, March 4 (ages 25-34) and Tuesday, March 5 (ages 18-24).
