Several parking lot closures are ahead

Parking lot

This week:

  • Today (Tuesday, July 16): Lots 9E and 9W (south of Ahlberg Hall) will be blocked off for orientation all day.
  • Thursday, July 18: Lot 24 (south side of 17th St.) will be used for parking for an event with Spirit.
  • Saturday, July 20: Lots 9E and 9W (south of Ahlberg Hall) will be blocked off for orientation all day.

Next week:

  • Monday-Tuesday, July 22-23: Lot 5 (north of the Heskett Center) will be used for orientation.
  • Thursday, July 25: A portion of the south Braeburn Square lot (lot near the Shocker Store off 21st Street) will be closed for a Meritrust event in the afternoon / evening.
  • Friday-Saturday, July 26-27: All of lot 10 (Corbin Education lot) will be closed in the mornings for lot cleaning and stall re-striping.
  • Wednesday-Sunday, July 24-28: Portions of the Hughes Metropolitan Complex lot (29th and Oliver) will be blocked off through the week and weekend.

Registration for Campus Safety: Active Threat Incident Planning is available

Active Threat Incident Planning July 31, 2019

Providing a safe and secure environment for the WSU community continues to be a top priority. The Campus Safety: Active Threat Incident Planning course in from 3-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, in 233 RSC, is a live training initiative to enhance WSU’s proactive approach to ensure a safe campus environment and to prepare our faculty, staff, and students in case of an incident of campus violence. 

Campus Safety: Active Threat Incident Planning will focus on two areas: 1) what to do in an active campus threat incident and 2) how to identify and report behaviors of concern.

This training is free and available to all WSU employees (faculty and staff). Log in to myWSU and register through myTraining.  For questions, contact myTraining@wichita.edu.


Free training available on Kansas Open Records and Open Meetings acts

The Kansas Attorney General's Office and Kansas Sunshine Coalition will offer free training on the Kansas Open Meetings Act and Kansas Open Records Act. Local elected officials, public agency staff, members of the media and the general public are encouraged to attend. The training is 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, July 17, in the Marcus Welcome Center.
