FEATURED STORIES

Deadline approaching to change to online course designation

All traditional course instruction (TCI) classes have been changed to hybrid (HYB) for the fall semester. Notify the Registrar’s Office at schedulebuilding@wichita.edu before Friday, June 26 if you plan to change your course to IIE (fully online, asynchronous).

The online fees for IIE courses provide support for many online resources, including instructional designers and our Bb platform that benefit all classes on campus. Existing IIE and HYO courses will remain coded as IIE and HYO.

Back to baseball

RH: Shockers gear up for summer baseball

Ross Cadena wanted to work on hand-eye coordination during the stay-at-home period and lacked his usual tools in Texas. He looked around the kitchen and improvised.

"I would hit beans out in the backyard at my house," he said. "Usually, I hit BBs before a game with a (hitting) stick. The only thing I had in the house was (brown) beans, so I said 'I'll just use beans. They're pretty small.'"

Baseball returns from the kitchens, backyards and lonely bullpens this week in Wichita with the opening of the Sunflower Collegiate League on Monday. Yesterday, the eight-week Showcase at Eck Stadium started its 5 p.m. doubleheaders with the Haysville Aviators playing the Wichita (18-under) Academy, followed by the Hutchinson Monarchs vs. the Newton Rebels.

Admission is $5 and face coverings are required for fans.

Learn more about study abroad

Feel free to share this with students who are interested in studying abroad

An online study abroad information session is now available on our website.  For those who have not attended an information session or just need a refresher, we would encourage you to check it out. The information session is an overview on study abroad programs including details on when and how to apply, scholarships, and student experiences abroad. Our study abroad information session video will replace all of the in-person summer sessions that had been planned.

After students watch the session, we encourage you to follow the steps and complete our interest form listed on the website. Then, we will get in touch with you regarding the next steps via email. It’s never too early to start planning, and we recommend students interested in programs for next year, to start the process now.

Visit our new webpage to learn more and watch our study abroad info session video at www.wichita.edu/studyabroadlinks.
