Faculty, staff virtual town Hall on April 2
A live YouTube virtual faculty and staff town hall will be held from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, April 2. This is an opportunity to hear and interact with Interim President Rick Muma and Interim Executive Vice President and Provost Shirley Lefever. The event will be moderated by the presidents of the faculty, UP and USS senates.
Faculty and staff who want to participate are encouraged to do so during the live YouTube stream. If you don’t currently have a YouTube account, click here for more information on how to create one. Creating an account will help facilitate questions in the live chat section of the Virtual Town Hall. You can watch the town hall live and recorded after the event at Virtual Town Hall.
Academic Affairs names new emeriti faculty
The Office of Academic Affairs has announced new emeriti faculty:
- Fred H. Besthorn, professor emeritus of the Department of Social Work
- Wei Cheng (Joseph) Mau, professor emeritus of the Department of Counseling, Educational Leadership, Educational and School Psychology
- Sue M. Nyberg, professor emerita of the Department of Physician Assistant
- Martin M. Perline, professor emeritus of the Department of Economics
2021 biometric screenings now available
Biometric screening dates for the remainder of 2021 have been added to the online scheduler. All screening events are held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in RSC 266 Pike. Appointments must be scheduled in advance, and the available times fill up quickly so log in to the HealthQuest portal to secure your appointment today. Click on the "Complete Your Biometric Screening" tab, then click the desired on-site screening schedule to launch the scheduling site.
Attendees earn five HealthQuest points just for attending, and up to 18 additional points for blood pressure, blood glucose, and total blood cholesterol within ideal ranges, for up to 23 points and $230 HSA/HRA rewards dollars. If your metrics are outside of the ideal ranges, you can still earn the same points by participating in the online learning modules in the HealthQuest portal on blood pressure, blood sugar management, and/or high cholesterol, as needed.

Tuition assistance applications due April 15
The HR Total Rewards team reminds staff and faculty that the deadline for summer 2021 tuition assistance applications is Thursday, April 15.
Reminder: Tuition Assistance applications for Summer 2021 are submitted through the online application form. The fillable PDF form will no longer be accepted. Due to the volume of applications received each semester, requests to submit late applications will be automatically denied. There will be no exceptions.

Holi spring festival returns to Wichita State
After the darkness of the pandemic, AHINSA is back with Holi to fill your life with colors and joy. Join us from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 17 at Hubbard Hall Lawn. Holi is open to students, faculty, and staff. Registration is required to attend.
Shocker grad to discuss food insecurity during pandemic
Join the Newman University School of Social Work and the community when Wichita State University graduate Tajahnae Stocker will be presenting on food insecurity during the pandemic at 6:30 p.m. April 6 via Zoom.
