Call for Posters

The Wichita State University Analytics Showcase is inviting students  to submit a poster for presentation at the first ever Wichita State University Analytics Showcase. This event is a great opportunity to present your data analytics research or applied project to WSU community, Industry and other stakeholders. The Wichita State University Analytics Showcase will deepen your understanding of accomplishments in the field of analytics in terms of research advances, curricular programs, analytics software, hardware, and skill-building, and it is a great  opportunity to interact with other Data Analytics researchers and practitioners.. 

Deadline for submission: March 13th, 2020 

Please Submit your Abstract using this Form. Abstract is limited to 200 words. You can submit your GRASP or Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Forum (URCAF) abstract.  

 


 

Guidelines for Poster Presentation

Time:

  • Posters should be set up no later than 7:30 am on the event day.
  • The poster session is going to be during lunch at 12-1pm. Please be prepared to present your poster during lunch
  • Assigned poster location will be available at check-in at registration. Please notify us of your poster title when registering, notify us of your poster title so that we can direct you to your assigned location.
  • Posters should be taken down promptly after the Evening Social (i.e., 6:30pm). Please do not remove your poster before this time.

Display space and mounting requirements:

  • Each individual poster board is 4 ft. wide by 3 ft. tall. 
  • We will also provide supply of push pins. Please feel free to bring them if you wish.

Poster content and format:

All posters must include the title and information about the author(s), including name(s), affiliation(s), etc. Posters at the showcase should address topics related to analytics. The poster should include the following:

  1. Clear and concise title describing the contact of the poster
  2. An abstract that will summarize the main findings or message of the research
  3. Clear objectives of the research or work presented in the poster
  4. Materials and Methods address the research work in a concise and informative way
  5. Results and discussions including figures and tables
  6. Conclusions that summarize the main findings of the research
  7. Use of visual effects and graphics to help convey important information are highly encouraged.

Judging criteria:

  • Degree to which presenter demonstrates understanding of their subject matter.
  • Clarity of description of presenter's research project, the scientific approach, and test results

Note that specific evaluation criteria are left to the judges' discretion. All decisions made by our team of judges are final.
